The Future of HTML5

April 20, 2010

I came across this site yesterday while looking into HTML5 and how it will be used in the future. Unfortunately it looks like this is another area where IE and Microsoft will be holding up the progression of the internet. Perhaps the number one goal (web related) for businesses is to reach the widest audience possible and so it makes since that they want their site cross-browser compatible. To date IE users make up roughly 54% of the browser usage. That's huge. And with HTML5 barely being supported by IE9, the future doesn't look bright. Sure eventually HTML5 will become the standard but with IE dragging behind it won't happen as fast as it should.
